
GRAHAM WHITWORTH
FILMMAKER DRUMMER

Graham Whitworth is a senior at the University of Memphis, studying film and movie production in the College of Fine Arts & Communications. He served as President of the University of Memphis Film Club from 2023 to 2024. Graham started making short movies on his own as a teenager, including "The Man In My Mind" (Thriller 2018), "The Orange Trigger" (Action 2018), "The Intruder" (Horror 2018), "Infestation" (Horror Comedy 2018), "Lawn Mowing Tutorial aka Silence of the Lawns" (Advertisement-Horror-Comedy 2019), "Sitcom.357" (Comedy 2020), "Office Drone" (Comedy 2020), "Comeback" (Action 2020), "Nick Nextdoor" (Documentary 2021), and others.

In 2020 Graham participated in a youth story-telling and documentary film-making program called LISTEN UP! at the Orpheum Theatre. From there, Graham got involved with Indie Memphis Youth, where he participated for two years in CrewUp Mentorships. Training under established filmmakers, Matteo Servente and Sean Winfrey, Graham produced "Office Justice" (Comedy 2020) and "High & Dry" (Comedy 2021). As a result, he was awarded the 2021 VIA Productions-Indie Memphis Youth Production Package Award, including a $5,000.00 grant to produce "Burning Bridges (Drama 2023)."

Graham completed "Little Wiseguys" (Child Comedy 2022), with friends from the University of Memphis and Indie Memphis Youth. It was featured at the 2022 Indie Memphis Youth Film Festival. His most recent film is "Trouble In Shelbyville" (Horror 2024). Graham is currently in the final stages of editing for a new horror movie for his senior independent film study class to graduate from University of Memphis in May 2025.


Graham has also worked as an independent videographer in association with Indie Memphis and other local production companies. He assisted with Last Bite Films to make a Tom Lee Park documentary for WKNO/Memphis Parks & Recreation and other video projects, and was featured in a popular promotion for the renovation of Overton Bark (dog park). Graham worked with MVP3 Foundation to make promotional videos for Midsouth Ponds and others. Graham independently produced promotions for Cooper Young Garden Walk, Pink Palace Summer Program, First Baptist Church of Covington, and of course, Graham's Lawn Service. He is experienced with Premiere Pro, Logic Pro, IMovie, Garageband, and After Effects editing software, Black Magic professional camera, Panasonic Camcorder, and Canon cameras. Graham is currently working as an intern at the Overton Park Shell, helping to record all of the live music performances. (pictured above)

Graham is a highly polished and seasoned drummer, heavily influenced by Mitch Mitchell, Steve Gadd, Ginger Baker, Jon Bonham, and Keith Moon. From 2021-2024, he was the drummer for award-winning classic rock band, Memphis Mojo, which was awarded the "Best New Act of 2022" in Lafayette's Tommy Awards. Graham was featured on Ric Chetter's international Radio Memphis with local guitar phenom, The Flamingo King. He previously played with metal band, Kill Command. He also sits in with other popular Memphis local bands. Graham has played hundreds of shows at favorite live music venues including Lafayette's Music Room, RockHouseLive, Southland Casino, Hyatt Regency, The Tin Roof, Blues City Cafe, and King's Palace on Beale Street, Memphis Music Room, Rooster's Blues House, Hadley's on Whitten, Sidecar Cafe, Tony's Trophy Room, Earnestine & Hazel's, Hernando's Hideaway, Young Avenue Deli, Woodchuck's, Delta Blues Winery, Growlers, Hi-Tone, Clover Club, Shake Rag, The Haystack, Delta Fair, Slide & Ride Rodeo, Redbone's, Covington Summer Concert Series, Dan McGuinness, TJ Mulligans, and more.

Graham also teaches as a drum instructor at School of Rock Memphis. Graham provides weekly one-on-one music lessons to students, ages 6 to 18. Students learn the concepts and skills to play classic rock songs, so they can quickly develop the competence to make their way to the stage for live performances.
